Michael Janich’s YoJumbo builds upon the success of his trendsetting Yojimbo 2 design, scaling it up by more than 20 percent and refining its ergonomics to fit a wider range of hand sizes. The newest expression of this formidable design renders its dramatic Wharncliffe blade in our proprietary CPM-SPY27 blade steel. This cobalt enriched particle metallurgy stainless steel is exclusive to Spyderco knives and delivers an outstanding balance of toughness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance. The deeply hollow ground blade of the YoJumbo takes full advantage of these qualities and features a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole for swift, ambidextrous, one handed opening. Its open backed handle is built on a framework of skeletonized stainless steel liners that minimize its weight while providing a solid foundation for its high strength Compression Lock mechanism. The liners are nested within coarse peel ply textured G-10 scales proudly showcasing a cobalt blue color one of the signature handle colors of Spyderco’s CPM-SPY27 family.
