Microtech Socom Elite Auto S/E Black Tactical Standard 160A-1T
Since the inception of the original Socom in 1996, it has set the standard for tactical/utility knives. Over the years, improvements have been made, making the Socom more adaptable to different environments. The Socom has a distinct handle shape that molds to your hand. Dual thumb studs. Includes a glass breaker, tip-down carry pocket clip, lanyard hole. First the manual version was reintroduced in early 2018 with some new upgrades and now Microtech has followed it up with the automatic.
This model features a black anodized 7075-T611 aluminum handle with grip inserts. Black finished M390 stainless steel single edge clip point blade. Black tactical finished hardware and pocket clip. The pocket clip is marked with the Microtech logo. The blade is marked with the Microtech logo, model information, production date, and serial number. Brand new in box.

Microtech Socom Elite 160a-1t
For me this knife is exactly what I was looking for! Blade shape, handle shape and texture are perfect. Blade deployment and lockup are stout and secure! All materials are topnotch and durable. Look at the specifications and if this model looks to be a good fit for you just order one, you will be EXTREMELY pleased! AEK was easy to deal with, had excellent communications and shipping was very speedy!

This socom elite auto
This is one mean knife. The blade shape is more “pointed” that their fixed blade socoms meaning it has less belly and I like that. I have both the fixed blade mini and the fixed blade large socoms. Microtechs have become without a doubt my favorite knives. I know the sharpness can vary but I got lucky with this one. It is so sharp I don’t want to mess it up with even a strop. While any coating will cause some drag over a satin one this one is to good looking to pass up. As to the action you better hold on tight as it kicks like a mule when opening. It is seriously over built. I hope it will ease up a bit as it breaks in. For me it was expensive but I have wanted one that was a standard blade (no serrations) for well over a year. Now I’ve got it and I’m thrilled. AE’s pricing is in line with other sites but once you order it is shipped fast sometimes within a couple of hours free. Anyway if you can get the scratch together (old as I am slang) buy it and I’m sure you will be happy you did like me.
