Kershaw 2420BST Large Liner Action Black Serrated

Kershaw's Liner Action series remains a favorite among knife enthusiasts across the country. One handed opening and closing. Locking liner holds blade safely in place, releases easily with one hand. Black die cast aluminum handle with non-slip, co-polymer insert. Removable pocket clip. Extremely lightweight, incredibly sharp. This one with a black stainless steel drop point blade with a partially serrated edge. These are getting harder and harder to find! Brand new in box.

Highlights: Very light yet very stout feeling. Opening the knife with the full size thumb stud comes easy; even with gloves on. The blade has detent at 90 degrees for liner lock partial action/feel . Blade is locked up firmly from liner tension rail at full open with no lateral wobble. Unlocking comes easy with ample thumb slot access to liner tension rail; again, achievable with gloves on. The blade arrived very sharp. The rubber inlay handle gives good texture for grip and the pocket clip design provides above average exterior exposure; again lending favor to gloved hand access. Lowlights: Mix matched screws. Silver Phillips screws secure pocket clip, Black Phillips and black hex screws ( one each) secure the frame. Overall: A year 2020 review on a new old stock 20 plus year old knife; a fantastic functional design in my opinion with consideration to the era, Not a deep carry for covert application. It is a utility / hunting knife with the outdoors and accessibility in mind design, with or without gloves on. As for me darn it, it is too dang cool to use and mar it all up. It is an antique. What can I say. Like so many other knives I have, I will simply marvel the mechanical design.
