Dew Hara Custom Kabuto Button Lock Folder Blue/Tan Handle Mirror Polish Blade
The Kabuto is a custom button lock folder by Dew Hara. He is the son of legendary Japanese knifemaker, Koji Hara and has just finished a four year apprenticeship with Anthony Marfione. Dew Hara is sure to be one of the upcoming stars of the knife industry. If you want to own one of the early knives from Dew, grab one of these now.
The design of this knife is to resemble the helmet first used by ancient Japanese warriors, and in later periods, they became an important part of the traditional Japanese armor worn by the samurai class and their retainers in feudal Japan.
The Kabuto is a push button folder that locks both in the opened and closed positions, and the blade can be easily and instantly deployed by flicking your wrist while pushing down the button. The mirror polished ATS-34 stainless steel blade features unique diagonally milled grooves that give it an aggressive look. The handle is radically shaped as well but has a surprisingly comfortable grip. The Duralumin handle scales are anodized a nice blue color with a tan anodized bolster section. Mirror polished stainless steel liners, back spacer, and a tip up carry pocket clip complete the package. Dew Hara's name and logo are etched on the blade. This one was acquired from a collector and is in like new condition with the original Japanese Kimono cloth pouch and black zip up pouch.
*The tarnish in the grooves. The collector we received it from stated he received it new this way and thought it looked cool with the forged look so he left it. We agree.
