The Shaman is one of Spyderco’s most capable and reliable folding knives. Now it is also a proud member of our Salt Series of cutting tools purpose designed for use in and around the water. The heart of the Shaman Salt is its broad, full flat ground blade, which is crafted from CPM-MagnaCut—a remarkable particle metallurgy steel that challenges conventional steelmaking wisdom to deliver an impressive synergy of toughness, edge retention, and superior corrosion resistance. Optimized for tactical applications, the blade is cloaked in a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating to reduce its reflective signature. It is paired with a handle constructed with nested, skeletonized stainless steel liners and contoured black G-10 scales. The liners form the foundation of the knife’s high strength Compression Lock mechanism, while the scales are meticulously machined with Spyderco’s signature Caribbean Bi Directional Texture pattern. To complement the DLC-coated blade, this Shaman Salt’s liners, four position pocket clip, and all other hardware are also made from ultra corrosion resistant materials and have low profile black coatings.
