Microtech Socom Elite Auto S/E Blue Apocalyptic Standard 160A-10APBL
Jordan / LeNeigh run an outstanding family business. The Microtech Socom Elite Auto S/E Blue Apocalyptic Standard 160A-10APBL folding knife represents a significant and competitively priced addition to my collection, serving as an alternative to the Benchmade Osborne Auto Burnt Copper Aluminum Handles Battle-washed MagnaCut Blade 9400BK-03. The Microtech Socom, renowned for its association with the United States Special Operations Command, is both popular and iconic within the industry. This model features a 4.00-inch blade crafted from M390 steel by Böhler-Uddeholm, ensuring durability and performance. Its secure coil spring mechanism enables smooth and efficient operation with either hand, providing immediate and consistent resistance upon activation. The blue aluminum handles offer a reliable grip—whether gloves are worn or not—and visually complement the apocalyptic single-edge blade design. Further distinguishing details include apocalyptic hardware and a reversible deep-carry pocket clip stamped with the manufacture date (10-2025). The packaging underscores Microtech’s commitment to quality and U.S.-based manufacturing standards. Both the blade bevel and edge are meticulously hand-ground to meet Microtech’s exacting criteria, resulting in a consistently uniform and symmetrical grind. Regarding retail experience, AEK has continually demonstrated excellence, providing outstanding service and communication throughout every stage of the purchasing process—from order placement to delivery. Over the past two years, I have procured forty-two knives and three titanium ink pens from AEK. Special acknowledgment is extended to Layla (shipping) and Ethan (management) for their exemplary professionalism and dedication.
