Description
Microtech Scarab II Generation III D/E-S Shadow DLC Standard 1180-1DLCTSH
The most popular heavy-duty Microtech OTF, the Scarab II, is back with innovative upgrades. The newly updated Scarab II retains the characteristics of its predecessor in both size and style while setting a new standard for OTF technology. On the surface, the new Scarab II is reminiscent of the previous generation. The classic aesthetics of the traction inserts and Torx screw design on the chassis, as well as the familiar glass breaker and pocket clip, bring back one of our favorite OTF styles. The internals, however, put the new Scarab II in a class of its own. The revolutionary dual fuel drivetrain system not only allows for effortless deployment, but the dual spring design propels the blade forward with enough force that deploying the knife underwater does not slow the action. The updated button pocket design reduces friction and facilitates debris displacement, reducing the need for frequent maintenance and cleaning. The latest innovation combined with a timeless Microtech look sets a new standard for hard-use, sizable OTF knives.
This model features black 6061-T6 aluminum handle scales with 3M grip inlays. Black DLC finished M390MK stainless steel single edge D/E-S blade. Black finished hardware, pocket clip, and glass breaker tip. The blade has the model information. The pocket clip has the Scarab logo. Brand new in box.

Bitter sweet
This was a bit of a disappointment. Ive wanted this knife for a very long time. Since the first generation scarab. I finally had the money at the same time I could find one for sale. So I pulled the trigger. The function of the lnofe is great. The look is also great. The problem is thos knife that cost 600 + dollars came relatively dull. Every other knife and sword ive purchased came very sharp. My 2011 combat troodon is still more sharp than this brand new microtech, and that's after many years of fidgeting and use. As you can imagine, its not easy to find someone to trust to send your grail knife that cost so much to be sharpened. Microtech says its 8 to 10 weeks lead time for all service according to email. So, its a bit of a bummer. When you buy a knife this expensive it shouldn't come dull. ?
